jersey shore

Remember that I'm whole blessed thing? Well, I had the chance to go see Logan this past weekend in New Jersey. Late Thursday night, I was trying to figure out what I was going to do for his Valentine's Day present since I failed to order it earlier in the week. Somehow the thousand thoughts in my head caused my fingers to start surfing for cheap last minute flights. Unbelievably, I found one (a flight that was probably cheaper than if I had booked it two months ago). I called Logan, bless his heart for putting up with my ridiculous craziness, and he found somewhere for me to stay. Within twenty-four hours, I was on a plane to Newark.

It was such an awesome weekend. Logan and I spent time with Clint, Jamie, and their two beautiful girls, Evee & Iris. We had the chance to get Thai, which was not only delicious but hysterical. I mean, our curry came in a hen bowl.

Clint and Jamie had already invited friends from the church over for chili on Sunday. Logan and I volunteered to make it so he made the traditional chili and I busted out the white chicken chili recipe. And I want to clarify that homemade biscuits are so much better than canned.

Monday came way too fast. Before Logan's class, we went on a Valentine's date at Dunkin' Donuts. By noon, we were heading back to the Newark Airport to say our goodbyes. I can't even begin to describe how blessed we were by this brief, spontaneous trip. I just know that God's working on our hearts, and maybe, this weekend was a step in something he has planned. We'll have to wait and see.

I know that last photo isn't big enough, but when leaving Newark, I could see the Statue of Liberty. Hey, girl, hey.
