warm january
Today, we woke up and did yoga. Thank you professional athletes who admit to it. You've helped Logan try it. Perhaps, it's not the most relaxing, deep breathing session with the two of us laughing but it's fun. He's cute and inflexible. We ate lunch at the Lyttleton market then spent the afternoon at Corsair bay where we read and played fill or bust and faced the cold water. It made me happy.

quick week
Last week flew. Hard to believe we were in Auckland a week ago. Such fun to meet our church family on the north island. Tears saying goodbye to the PAC team. This week flew. Experienced my first show day on Friday. It's like the state fair without deep fried oreos and elephant ears but with wood chopping and sheep sheering.
Yesterday was spent in my favorite greenhouse. Loving these reject orchids, which we shared at a market, inviting strangers to church. "Can I have a pink one for my husband's grave?" she asked. To comfort with a simple stem, but wanting to do more. Desperately wanting to hear her story, to love through listening, and share God's love for her. Who knows, maybe we'll get another chance. As for tonight, I pray for hope and stirring of hearts. For all the people with orchids in their homes that they might find life.

spring
It's really different experiencing spring in September. Even though I'm missing out on pumpkin lattes, I'm still wearing scarves because it's freezing compared to this past Midwest summer. Changing seasons.
Today I went with a friend to the Lyttleton Market. Lovely to see the differences and similarities, new and familiar. Plus, Lyttleton is drop dead gorgeous like the rest of New Zealand. We bought pies and pastries and ate at a park overlooking Corsair Bay. It was good.
After lazy Saturday naps, Logan and I biked to Hagley Park, hoping we didn't miss the daffodil woodlands and mangolia trees. Seriously, the park is beautiful. Like Central Park, you hear the noises of a city, but get lost in nature. It's a good place. I hope we find ourselves there often.
It's starting to settle in this is no longer a waiting season. Of course, we're waiting for preview services and launch of the church. But there is also a tremendous amount of things to be done. Time to be active. Trying to rejoice in God's provision: jobs, car. Trying not to be discouraged by: rentals, time. Reminding myself: present over perfect.
