spring

It's really different experiencing spring in September. Even though I'm missing out on pumpkin lattes, I'm still wearing scarves because it's freezing compared to this past Midwest summer. Changing seasons.

Today I went with a friend to the Lyttleton Market. Lovely to see the differences and similarities, new and familiar. Plus, Lyttleton is drop dead gorgeous like the rest of New Zealand. We bought pies and pastries and ate at a park overlooking Corsair Bay. It was good.

After lazy Saturday naps, Logan and I biked to Hagley Park, hoping we didn't miss the daffodil woodlands and mangolia trees. Seriously, the park is beautiful. Like Central Park, you hear the noises of a city, but get lost in nature. It's a good place. I hope we find ourselves there often.

It's starting to settle in this is no longer a waiting season. Of course, we're waiting for preview services and launch of the church. But there is also a tremendous amount of things to be done. Time to be active. Trying to rejoice in God's provision: jobs, car. Trying not to be discouraged by: rentals, time. Reminding myself: present over perfect.

spring thanks

Spring is good. I love our windows open to keep the house cool. I love sitting on our porch. I love grilling. I love kids outside on the playground. Even though it's dark when I wake up every morning, I hear birds singing.

march

March is here. Yes, twelve days in and loving it. What a month so far starting with my college best friend visiting and then spending last week in Seattle with Logan's sister and brother-in-law. I'll digest the last couple weeks in between work. It's been full and special, so thankful for these moments, too precious to not reflect.

Oh, and Princeton is expecting seventy degrees all week. It's a completely different world at our apartment complex and downtown. Reminds me of college in spring. Blankets in open grasses, ice cream in hand, busy playground, taking walks, dresses and shorts, open windows, everyone is outside. Okay, time to barbeque. Happy spring, friend.

first of spring

Brought home these pretty things yesterday. I've already described my love for daffodils and their significance in my life. For those who faced hard winters, take heart. It's that time, friend. Spring is coming.
